I Am Not in the USA
I can't believe this is still a thing but I feel like it has to be said. I browse a lot of communities online on various topics that have no geographical significance and, for some reason, a lot of Americans will assume that everyone else online is also American.
Usually, it happens when someone is asking for advice on something. For example, in a community that discusses something mundane like laundry, someone might get advice to use <insert American brand that doesn't exist anywhere else in the world> for cleaning. I understand that from their perspective, that's all they know but it's very rare that they'll throw in a "not sure where you're from but here we have <product name>". Sometimes, they'll even throw in a store name that only exists in the USA.
I'm sure I'll trigger a few people who read this but... Meh.
