My 20 Year Old Mug Broke
In the last few years, I've become a fan of tools with few complexities. Complexities mean more points of failure. Some of my favourite possessions include one-piece skillets and basic water bottles.
Imagine my face when I was handwashing a 20 year old mug and the handle snapped off in my hand. (I received a small cut in my palm when it happened but nothing too serious.)
I thought about discarding it and moving on but it's something that's been present for most of my life and I wanted to make a post on it as a memento to remember it by.

Reflecting on it now, I suspect it would've lasted a lot longer had it not gone through all those dishwashing cycles throughout the years.
On a related note, I recently picked up a Snow Peak H450 mug and I'm a fan. It's a double-walled titanium mug with no handles. It may get dinged up over time but it won't shatter from falling and it doesn't need handles due to the insulating design.
